and NoSe... i have a feeling you have no clue about the secret Mezcal bar in the back behind Dislexia Books. You have to know about the little four foot door on the left wall of the back bar to gain entrance. BGD and I started a party there one night... it seems to inevitably attract many an architect clientele and guys like Alabama Bob. Some day Brian, you'll see and you'll get to try the worm salt too...mmmmmm!

some fool ordered those nachos one night and ate like two of them... they were not up to par with nachos we had thus had so they sat on the plate for the next hour. Just a mass of "big as your head nachos" sitting unloved and unwanted. I wanna say is was Rudolpho... i am probably right.

it's funny... we stayed at the Westin Friday night. you know who was there again... The Taiwanese president. I kept egging Carrie to go over and stand by him so I could take a picture. Didn't happen. BUT that sushi happened. we got a ship... a sushi ship. Such a treat, and like 5 rolls in addition to that.

after going the GT for the first time I had to go back and browse this blog and really understand the spots we were going to in relation to how you related... not just otto saying oh yeah this is another one of brian's bars, or dave or miya or rudolpho. by the end i didn't really know which bars you worked at and which ones were drunken murmurs. BUT bistro5.... score. Jonathan makes a mean bloody mary, in fact i pounded two in 15 minutes. his assistant's couldn't cut it. i should have practiced my criticism and spanish all at once "demasiado limon"... but the calamari and octopus AND fried root chips (yes i ordered all of those for myself, choice anxiety) killed it.

It is pronounced "San Shien".

San ("Sahn") is 3 in Chinese and "Shien" rhymes with "yen".

He has since earned the name "Captain Ridiculous".
